This Month at BCC IT: May 2025 Author: Amanda Harlow May in Motion Keeping Connections Strong While the rest of us welcomed two bank holiday weekends, our workforce has maintained our momentum over a productive May, with a strong focus on connectivity, infrastructure, and digital transformation. We’ve been installing communications and Wi-Fi equipment in preparation for the upcoming holiday season, including a large fibre termination project. Behind the scenes, we’ve been supporting Apple Business Manager enrolment, and wrapping up a major email migration to Microsoft 365. As May draws to a close, we’ll be located at two new customer sites, installing servers and networking equipment – work that is likely to continue into early June. Talking of wrapping up, let us know if you spot any of our BCC IT vans as they travel up and down the country. They have recently received an eye-catching makeover, and we think they are looking even smarter than ever. Mental Health Awareness May marked Mental Health Awareness Week and presented an opportunity to explore the vital yet often overlooked role of the human mind in cybersecurity. At BCC IT we have access to some of the latest research-based based digital toolkits – Mobile and Web based apps, to complement our End-User Training suite and build secure habits that have been shown to reduce stress-driven mistakes that can lead to falling victim to phishing attacks and sneaky social engineering tactics. If you would like to learn more about our mindfulness driven solutions, designed to help employee’s mental health and improve cognitive focus, please get in touch with our team. And if you missed our full Insight Article that discusses the often-overlooked link between emotional resilience and cybersecurity you can find it here: Mental Health Awareness Week 12 – 16 May | BCC IT Elevating your Security Beyond Support While we seamlessly integrate security and compliance into our daily operations, it’s important to recognise that these services extend beyond support. Our Security and Compliance offerings are distinct pillars that provide proactive protection against emerging threats. By understanding this distinction, you empower your team to leverage these layers of protection more effectively, ensuring not just reactive support, but a fortified defence. Get in touch to continue the conversation and learn how we can enhance your security posture and ensure you’re not just supported but comprehensively protected. An Update from Last Month – Meet our Wildlife Adoptees! If you follow our monthly insights, you will remember that we raised awareness and money in April to adopt a Cardigan Bay Seal, a Skomer Island Puffin, and a Hedgehog (thanks to everyone’s generosity!) We asked everyone to get involved in naming our wildlife trio. The votes were counted ahead of the final bank holiday weekend, and we can introduce (Drum roll…), Pixel the Puffin, Java the Seal, and Bit, the little hedgehog – receiving more than 50% of the votes – Thank you to everyone who joined in the fun and suggestions!
