Happy New Year Solutions and a Seasonal Start to 2026

As we head into a new year, many businesses are taking the opportunity to tidy up their tech. From upgrading IT infrastructure, boosting network resilience, tightening cybersecurity, or migrating to Microsoft 365 and the cloud. The BCC IT  support team has been busy with everything from  improving connectivity and refreshing outdated IT equipment, to helping clients modernise systems, secure data, and stay fully prepared for the year ahead.

🐑 January began with snow covering much of rural Wales and Carmarthenshire. It was a timely reminder that time and technology continue to move forward. The work we do often reflects the rhythm of local life, sometimes in surprising ways – which this month meant updating essential cabling in a lambing barn, helping to ensure essential monitoring as busy farmers prepare for the arrival of their first spring lambs.

Project Highlights

☁️ Behind every project is a goal: to make technology more reliable, more secure, and easier to live with. Whether it’s faster connectivity, more secure data, or systems that run without interruption our IT support teams have been hard at work behind the scenes, preparing clients for the year ahead.

Much of our work has focussed on practical infrastructure improvements – from upgrading cabling, replacing ageing IT equipment, and installing and expanding business Wi-Fi solutions to enhance coverage and everyday IT performance. These upgrades play a vital role in keeping operations running smoothly. Reliability matters, especially in environments where uninterrupted service is critical.

We’ve also seen significant progress with Microsoft 365 and cloud migration projects. Our teams are supporting organisations as they modernise systems, move away from legacy platforms, and prepare users and devices for future ways of working. Careful planning and preparation ensure migrations are carried out with minimal disruption and support a smooth transition process.

Network resilience and business continuity remain key themes. Several client sites have undergone network improvements to strengthen connectivity and introduce more robust backup solutions, helping businesses to stay online even if their primary connection is disrupted.

Cybersecurity and Compliance Activity

🛡️ Alongside infrastructure and cloud projects, our cybersecurity services team has remained active throughout January.  Recent work has included Cyber Essentials assessments, vulnerability testing, PCI compliance activity, and the secure decommissioning of outdated devices and servers. These efforts are essential for helping businesses meet compliance requirements, reduce risk, and maintain a strong security posture – crucial in today’s threat landscape.

Listening to our Clients

💁‍♀️ Towards the end of the month we launched our annual customer satisfaction review. This was sent to a selection of primary supported contacts and authorised company representatives, and the responses we receive are invaluable. Every experience helps us to understand what’s working well and where we can make future improvements.

If you’ve received our survey and haven’t yet had a chance to respond, we’d genuinely welcome feedback about your experience with us. Your responses help us to shape how we support our clients in the year ahead.

Thank You – and an Open Invitation

🧾 We’re also currently putting the final touches to our upcoming BCC IT brochure, which will include a selection of client testimonials. We’d like to give our genuine thanks to those who have already shared their experiences with us – your words mean a great deal and reflect the relationships we’re proud to build.

If you’re a client who would be happy to share a short testimonial, it’s not too late to be included. Any feedback will of course, only be used with permission.

Giving Back to the Community

⚽ Once the weather allowed play to resume, we were thrilled to see one of our sponsored clubs, Bow Street FC install a new pitch-side board – a visible reminder of our ongoing appreciation and support for local teams and grassroots sport. We’re proud to back organisations that bring people together and strengthen our communities.

A Colourful Update

Earlier this month, we shared a closer look at our office wall mural here in Newcastle Emlyn. Originally created by local artist Rhiannon Roberts a decade ago, we welcomed her back again this month to update the piece – reflecting change while bringing it thoughtfully up to date without losing any of the original character. The mural is a meaningful reminder of our roots, our community, and how much has evolved over the years. If you’re part of that community, there’s a good chance you’ll spot something familiar.

If you missed it, you can read the full story behind the mural here: 🎨A Decade in Pictures: The Story Behind the BCC IT Wall Mural

Looking Ahead

🪴Our work this month – from strengthening infrastructure and improving resilience, to supporting local communities and listening carefully to client feedback, reflects the foundations we aim to build throughout the year.

As we inch towards spring, our clients’ needs, like the seasons are evolving and our attention turns to upcoming events and new projects, while maintaining our reliable, thoughtful, IT support. We look forward to the months ahead and continuing to work alongside clients old and new.

Thank you, as always to our clients, partners, and community for being part of our New Year solution.
