Most of us understand how important it is to protect our devices and private information, but it’s easy to overlook what happens to that data when those older devices are finally taken out of service. 

At BCC IT, protecting your data doesn’t end when a device reaches the end of its life. When equipment is entrusted to us for disposal, every hard drive is mechanically shredded on our own premises to military grade-standards. This removes any risks that come with transport, or external processing, and keeps the chain-of custody from start to finish firmly under our control.   Everything is logged and shredded under CCTV and linked to a unique serial number. No data can ever be recovered or fall into the wrong hands, and once shredded the remaining materials are processed and recycled in accordance with Waste Electrical and Equipment Recycling (WEEE) Regulations – supporting BCC ITs ongoing commitment to environmental
