Wrapping Up 2025 with Festive Cheer, Cyber Vigilance and Seamless Support

❄️ With Christmas celebrations all wrapped up and the festive leftovers finally gone, December already feels like a whirlwind of plans, deadlines and last-minute lists. In this BCC IT December 2025 Insight, we pick up the story just as many people across Wales discovered their first day back in the New Year was disrupted by heavy snowfall and icy conditions, turning country roads into a beautiful – but undrivable – picture postcard scene.

Taken on my early morning walk, this photo sums up how beautiful our little corner of West Wales looks in winter – even if it sometimes forces us to rethink our travel plans.

Just before we get too far into 2026 and an exciting New Year, we wanted to pause and wrap up 2025 with a few highlights from December at BCC IT from Christmas celebrations and community sponsorship to customer satisfaction, cyber-security vigilance, and keeping our clients connected whatever the season brings.

🌟 A Sparkling Christmas Celebration at Ty Glyn

Earlier in December, just before some of the team headed off for a well-earned festive break, we gathered for our annual Christmas Party at Ty Glyn in Ciliau Aeron, near Lampeter. It was a brilliant chance for colleagues and partners to spend time together away from busy screens, desks, and inboxes.

The Ty Glyn staff were exceptional hosts, serving a delicious three-course festive meal to a full dining-room of enthusiastic partygoers. Live music set the tone for the evening, ending with a wonderfully entertaining (and proudly Welsh) Tom Jones tribute act who had everyone singing along.

There was plenty of dancing, laughter and celebrating, and it was the perfect way to close another busy year – we are genuinely grateful to BCC IT for such a memorable evening.

🏑 Spotlight on Local Sport: Clwb Hoci Llandysul

December also featured the latest instalment of our Sponsorship Spotlight, this time focussing on Clwb Hoci Llandysul and the talented girls’ teams training at Ysgol Bro Teifi.

We’re proud to support local grassroots hockey and the junior girls’ pathways in the Teifi Valley. Helping to build confidence, teamwork and opportunities for young players to thrive.

💻 Quietly Working Through the Holidays

While many enjoyed a well-deserved break over Christmas and New Year, our systems didn’t take any time off. Monitoring continued as usual, and our service desk remained available for essential support throughout the festive period.

A huge thank you to our clients for working with our reduced holiday cover and helping us prioritise urgent issues during this period. Your cooperation ensures we can keep everyone secure, supported, and running smoothly.

🔐 Cybersecurity Focus: Staying Vigilant

One of our newest team members recently completed updated security training, covering the latest developments in phishing, social engineering, and emerging digital threats. In addition, continuous learning is essential in our industry – threats evolve quickly, and staying ahead of them is key to protecting systems and data.

The festive season and back-to-work period often brings a spike in phishing attempts, from convincing looking fake accounts to unexpected messages landing in busy inboxes.

As we settle back into routine again after the holidays, here are a few vital reminders:

  • Be cautious of unexpected links or attachments
  • Double check sender addresses and URLs
  • If something feels off or you’re in any doubt, don’t click – ask your IT team (or us) to take a look

If you would like a review of your current security posture, we’re always here to help.

On completion of support tickets, our users are invited to rate the help they received via a quick smileback survey, and the results across 2025 can now be summarised.

Over the year, we received 3,778 reviews, achieving a Net CSAT score of 98.6 and an average response rate of 55.3%. Every rating represents a real interaction where someone took the time to share their experience – confirming what we’re doing well, or occasionally, where we could do better.

Every comment is read and shared with the team, and your feedback helps us to shape training, processes and the way we communicate. It’s one of the most practical ways we can keep improving the service you experience whether it’s on the phone, by email, on site, or via our remote support tools.

We’re incredibly proud of these results – but we’re not stopping there. In 2026 we’re looking forward to reading even more of your comments and suggestions and seeing how close we can get to giving our customers a 100% positive customer experience.

If a member of our team has helped you recently, please do keep clicking those smileback ’emoji’ feedback links – every response genuinely helps us improve and keeps the whole team motivated.

🎆 Looking Ahead to 2026

Looking ahead, January always brings new projects, fresh ideas, and conversations about how to make this year even better than the last. For example, from device refreshes and lifecycle planning, to tightening policies and improving resilience, we’re already preparing topics for our upcoming Insights articles.

If there’s a particular IT challenge or question you’d like us to demystify, we’d love to hear from you. These updates are written for you, and your suggestions help us to shape what we share and explore next.

For now, from everyone at BCC IT: diolch for being with us throughout 2025.

Finally, here’s to a secure, successful, and wonderfully wintry start to 2026.
