Community wall mural receives new addition

Our ‘live’ colourful community wall mural received a lot of attention at the Cardiff Welsh Business Show held at Cardiff City Stadium last month. This week we had artist Rhiannon Roberts return to our HQ and paint the additional new sponsors to the mural, Aled Llewellyn Jones; Junior sailor for GB Topper Class, Aiden Jones; U21 Wales Ski Team and BCC IT Footgolf at Carmarthen Golf Club.

Rhiannon of Rhiannon Art, a local artist, was commissioned earlier this year to create and paint a ‘live’ community wall mural in the meeting room to illustrate the sponsored local talent, including Carmarthen cyclist Scott Davies, who rides for Team Wiggins; European Junior Tour golfer Dion Regan; Carmarthen Football Club; Newcastle Emlyn Rugby Club; and many other grassroots sports clubs.

Steve Mason, BCC IT Director explained, “We are an integral part of the local community, providing jobs and supporting many grassroots sports clubs, projects, charities and community organisations: the lifeblood of sport and recreation across the county. We were pleased to see the new additions made to the community wall mural this week.  This is a ‘live’ working mural, in the sense that new additions will be made to it on an ongoing basis. The mural not only brings colour to our HQ in Carmarthenshire but acts as a focal point at our office and highlights being part of the community as being one of our core values.”
