People, Projects, and Community Highlights

The BCC IT team outside the office in September 2025, celebrating milestones and delivering IT support in Wales and UK

🍂 As the days shorten and September saw us return to full swing, life at BCC IT was every bit as busy as expected. And while our work keeps us focssed on technology – IT support, cybersecurity, and digital solutions for every business – what makes us stand out is our people. September was a month of milestones, teamwork, and those small but important moments that bring everyone together.

👥 Training Day and Team Time

Earlier this month, we held a companywide training day. To make it possible, we briefly closed our doors – a rare move for us – and we’d like to thank our clients for their patience and understanding. It was a valuable day of learning and collaboration, and of course we kept energy levels high with delicious pizza from Maggie and Mo’s, who set up camp right outside our office.

Sharing food and laughter gave us time to connect as people, not just colleagues, and these moments really remind us how important it is to balance hard work with human connection.

📷 Celebrating Our Team

On the morning of our training day, we also took a big step in showcasing the whole BCC IT team, with a professional photo session capturing the faces behind the work. A huge thank you to Owen Howells photography for spending the morning with us. These new photos will soon be featured on the BCC IT website, so keep an eye out for a fresh introduction to the team.

We also celebrated personal milestones – wishing congratulations to our colleague Jeremy, who tied the knot at the Ceridwen Centre, tucked away in a little corner of the Carmarthenshire countryside. We couldn’t be more pleased for the happy couple and thank them both for sharing a picture of their special day.

➿ Community and Projects

This September gave us the chance to work on some projects close to the heart. One highlight was helping a client digitise cassette tapes belonging to a Welsh veteran – preserving irreplaceable memories for generations to come. It was an incredibly moving reminder of the power of technology to protect history.

You can read the full story on our website: Digitising Memory to Safeguard the Future. Welsh speakers may also enjoy listening to the Welsh-language interview linked in the article.

🎶 A Note on Hold Music

Every now and then, callers may find themselves placed on hold while we check necessary details or complete essential security steps. We always aim to keep these pauses short, and we truly appreciate your patience when it happens.

After some friendly client feedback, we recently updated our hold music – replacing the tune that may have become just a little too catchy after repeat listens!  We’ll review our phone system again in the months ahead, but in the meantime we hope the new version makes those short pauses more pleasant.

🎀 Wear It Pink Day

On 30th September we proudly joined Wear It Pink Day, fundraising and raising awareness for breast cancer research. There was a selection of homemade curries (yes, another running theme this month!), baked goods, colour, and community spirit – for a cause close to many hearts.

😢 A Fond Farewell

We’re bidding a bittersweet farewell to our colleague Adrian Hutton, who will be leaving us on Friday 3rd October. Adrian’s presence will be missed, not least by the many clients who’ve provided glowing Smileback and other feedback during his 3+ years at BCC IT. While we’ll miss him, we’re excited for the next stage of his journey and wish him every success for the future.
