❄️As winter settles in, with short days, busy diaries, and the season’s first snowfall creating its usual chaos, our November Insight shares a behind-the-scenes look at how we’re reinforcing the foundations that keep organisations secure, compliant and running smoothly. Covering our latest ISO announcement, practical onsite improvements, secure and sustainable IT disposal, and the customer feedback that tells us we’re focussing on what matters most.

🔎 ISO Audit: Raising the Bar on Standards

November marked a major milestone as we welcomed an assessor from the British Assessment Bureau (BAB), for a full week of ISO audits. The visit included a surveillance audit for our ISO 27001Information Security, confirming our continued high standards, and stage 2 assessments for ISO 9001 – Quality Management, and ISO 14001 – Environmental Management – the final step in achieving these key accreditations.

Our certifications are audited by the British Assessment Bureau – an Amtivo brand, and accredited by UKAS, providing independent assurance that our management systems meet internationally recognised best-practice standards.

Why does this matter? These standards reflect our ongoing commitment to robust security, consistent quality, and sustainable operations. They also play a key role in supporting our growth and strengthen our ability to win new opportunities as more tenders now require  professional ISO credentials as evidence of trust, security and reliability.

We’re proud to confirm ✅ ISO 2700 recertification ✅  ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.

A huge thank you to our Compliance and HR Officer for working meticulously to secure these achievements,  and to the entire team for helping to make it all possible.

🛣️ Our Workforce: Out and About

You may have seen the BCC IT vans on the road – our engineers have been busy upgrading clients to full fibre (FTTP) connections, completing Microsoft 365 migrations and decommissioning older on-premises servers in favour of more secure, energy-efficient solutions. We’ve also been rolling out new endpoints and routers, moving comms cabinets to safer locations, and onboarding a new client site. All these efforts ensure faster, more reliable networks that are easier to manage.

♻️ Secure Disposals & Environmental Responsibility

Security doesn’t stop when a device reaches the end of its life. At BCC IT, we take data protection seriously – even during disposal.

Every device and hard drive we collect for disposal is mechanically shredded to military-grade standards at our own premises, within a tightly controlled ISO-aligned environment. This guarantees that no data can be recovered or fall into the wrong hands. After shredding the remaining materials are processed and recycled in accordance with Waste Electrical and Equipment Recycling (WEEE) Regulations, supporting both our environmental sustainability and information security.

Learn more about our shredding and destruction process in our recent blog: 🌐Secure and Sustainable or speak to our team🔗.

👦🏼🤝🧒🏼 Supporting Young People and Charity

Following a connection at the Welsh Business Show last month, we were pleased to donate a Samsung Galaxy A9+ Tablet, with 64GB storage, WiFi and 5G to Kids Cancer Charity, which has supported families of children with cancer for over 30 years.

The charity provides respite breaks, play therapy, and magical Disney experiences, giving children and their families moments of joy during incredibly challenging times.

Our donation will help their team raise vital funds and manage operations, and we look forward to sharing how it’s been put to best use soon.
